Job Description

You will collaborate with other disciplines on product development from conception through implementation. We are looking for DevOps Engineers who have at least 8+ years of experience software deployment, monitoring and management of cloud-based assets, as well as someone who is passionate about DevOps processes. In this role you work with a small, collaborative team of engineers, product managers, and designers so excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also a must. And most importantly we look for people that can prioritize, multi-task, and deliver because it’s a lot more fun to get things done.

Responsibilities

• Support deployment, monitoring, and management of cloud-based assets
• Ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of production systems
• Identify automation opportunities to improve DevOps operations
• Review architecture and offer recommendations for improvements
• System troubleshooting and problem solving across multiple platforms (dev/test/prod)
• Continuous process improvements
• Embrace continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes
• Evaluate new technology options and vendor products
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure new environments meet requirements
• Identify and document IT best practices that will improve the systems deployment function
• Provide status updates of assigned tasks in projects and feedback to peers and appropriate managers.

Requirements 

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps or provisioning environments, deploying applications, and maintaining infrastructures
• Strong ability to deal with multiple urgent situations at a time
• Strong experience with multiple database technologies (MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle etc…)
• Experience and knowledge in network protocols (e.g. WINS, DNS, TCP/IP)
• Working in a private as well as public cloud environment (Azure, AWS, etc…)
• Configuration Management, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes
• Experience with network devices and load balancing
• Experience in managing Linux-based infrastructure
• Hands-on experience in at least one scripting language
• Familiarity with AWS fundamentals (EC2, RDS, VPC)
• Understanding of and exposure to Infrastructure As Code (Puppet, Terraform)
• Comfortable in a hybrid Enterprise / Open Source environment
• Exposure to Continuous Integration and Deployment
• Able to communicate difficult technical concepts clearly to a variety of individuals of varying technical expertise and understanding.

Bonus points for:

• Experience with clustered application deployment
• Experience working with and creating elastic deployment models utilizing AWS & Docker
• AWS Certified
